Nanny State In Akron Ohio

Many free enterprise people are concerned about the expansion of the so called "Nanny State," where the government promises to supply every possible need to every person. In Akron we are fast developing into a Donny State where the Democratic Mayor and the all Democratic City Council is now supplying everything but eternal salvation.

The city government is now providing trash collection, water, sewer, bark park, golf courses, 16 planned soccer fields, Inventure Place, housing, loans, grants, public school buildings, electric and gas aggregation plans, libraries, streets, an airport, a convention bureau, house demolition, downtown entertainment, camping and fishing facilities, etc.

I don't suppose our very expensive public schools have taught the children anything about Tammany Hall or Huey Long. Akron democrats own everything except a local newspaper. No, they got that too. Emperor Don is not wearing any clothes, he's wearing the pages of the Akron Beacon Journal.

Bill O'Reilly, A Bit Prissy

Bill Oreilly has dissed the Swift Vets and has said, he "wants to carve out a wider demographic" of radio/TV listeners/viewers.

O'Reilly told Mike Wallace that he (Bill) is a "journalist who entertains," whereas Rush Limbaugh is just an "entertainer" who cannot be depended upon for reliable news stories. Huh, Bill?

Bill has successfully carved me out of his newer, wider "demographic."
