(CNSNews.com) - When CNSNews.com published an article Monday, Oct. 4, entitled, 'Exclusive: Saddam Possessed WMD, Had Extensive Terror Ties,' we decided against publishing all 42 pages of the Iraqi intelligence documents in our possession and on which the article was based.

We published only the first page, fearing that if more were made widely available on the Internet, they might end up being altered or otherwise manipulated. We offered credentialed news organizations and counter-terrorism experts the opportunity to view and receive copies of the documents so that they might check for themselves on the authenticity of the documents and judge their importance in the debate over whether Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction and/or had ties to international terrorist organizations.

Several news organizations did just that. But in light of other assertions on Wednesday, widely reported by the mainstream media, that Saddam did not pose any significant threat prior to the U.S. invasion of Iraq, we felt it was time to publish as many of the Iraqi intelligence documents as possible.

What follows are copies of 24 of the 42 pages that are in our possession. Pages 21 through 26 were not published because they contain a list of terrorists trained at a camp belonging to the Iraqi Intelligence Directorate. CNSNews.com hopes to glean more information about the individuals on this list and provide updates in the future on their activities and whereabouts. Pages 29 through 40 were excluded because they replicate, though in a different person's handwriting, earlier documents. "

First, consider the latest smoking gun to emerge in the media war on George Bush (news - web sites): The internal memo written by ABC News Political Director Mark Halperin that popped up right before Friday night's Bush-Kerry debate.


Halperin, described by the network as "responsible for the planning and editorial content of all political news on the network," issued new orders.


Both sides distort the truth, he said, adding in effect that Kerry's lies don't matter — but that George W. Bush's most certainly do.


"Kerry distorts, takes out of context, and mistakes all the time, but these are not central to his efforts to win." In contrast, he wrote, "the current Bush attacks on Kerry involve distortions and taking things out of context in a way that goes beyond what Kerry has done" — a point he said was echoed by reporters from such paragons of objectivity as the above-mentioned Newsweek and The New York Times.


Then came the instructions:


"We have a responsibility to hold both sides accountable to the public interest, but that doesn't mean we reflexively and artificially hold both sides 'equally' accountable when the facts don't warrant that.


"It's up to Kerry to defend himself, of course. But as one of the few news organizations with the skill and strength to help voters evaluate what the candidates are saying to serve the public in- terest, now is the time for all of us to step up and do that right."


That is, voters need skillful, strong "help" evaluating information because they are too stupid, too ignorant or too benighted to figure out the "right" way to vote all by themselves.


They need Mark Halperin and his crew of correct-thinkers to explain things to them.

JOHN Kerry's campaign has warned Australians that the Howard Government's support for the US in Iraq has made them a bigger target for international terrorists.

Diana Kerry, younger sister of the Democrat presidential candidate, told The Weekend Australian that the Bali bombing and the recent attack on the Australian embassy in Jakarta clearly showed the danger to Australians had increased.
'Australia has kept faith with the US and we are endangering the Australians now by this wanton disregard for international law and multilateral channels,' she said, referring to the invasion of Iraq.

He made this announcement on Special Report With Brit Hume tonight. He says that they're constantly finding new caches of weapons, and they expect (or at least fear) that there are many more such weapons to be found in Iraq.
You will not be shocked to learn that Google and Yahoo searches produce no recent print-medium hits on keywords associated with this.
I didn't find an article on it even on FoxNews. Which sort of doesn't surprise me. There's a reason the Fox higher-ups have to issue specific directives to their employees regarding how to cover news in a fashion which isn't full of knee-jerk partisan liberal bias-- because the dirty little secret is that FoxNews, like most other media organizations, is staffed almost entirely by liberals.
If you don't specifically tell them 'Give the discovery of 35 Sarin and/or Mustard-Gas shells prominent reporting,' they won't do so.
The best I can do is link this old New York Sun article about his previous announcement of 10-12 such shells.
If you do find an article about this, let me know. My Googling/Yahooing skills are not, as the kids say, of the 'mad' variety.

President Bush and Senator Kerry have been sparring about the effect of Senator Kerry's tax plans on small businesses and jobs. Because of data limitations, it is impossible to tell with certainty how many employers would face tax increases. Table T04-0144 sheds some light, however. The table shows that 995,000 individuals who report flow-through income or loss on a schedule C or F, or active income from a partnership or S-corporation on a Schedule E would pay higher taxes under Senator Kerry's plan in 1995. (The Treasury Department's estimate is 940,000.) Only about half of those returns report that that income is more than half of all compensation, and only 71,000 claim a deduction for wages and salaries on Schedule C. Based on any of these measures, less than 5% of small business returns would face a tax increase."

Well, George W. Bush won Florida in 2000 by just 537 votes."

A shot was fired at the Republican Party headquarters in Huntington Thursday night, while two dozen supporters of George W. Bush watched him accept his party's nomination on television.

Secret Service to Investigate Incident

The Secret Service was contacted Friday to help investigate a shot fired at the Cabell County Republican headquarters in Huntington.

Supporters of President Bush had gathered at the 4th Avenue headquarters Thursday night to watch the president accept his party's nomination. About two minutes into the speech, someone fired a shot through the front window of the building.

Nobody was hurt, but there was plenty of anger in the aftermath.

'This is pretty low and shows how desperate the Democratic Party is,' said Republican Amanda Beach.

Bobby Nelson of the Cabell County Democratic Executive Committee disagreed. 'I hope it doesn't take on a political connotation, that this was done for politics,' Nelson said. 'I'd like to say it was some random thoughtless act.'

Police did not have much to go on in their investigation. No bullet fragments were found, so detectives can't tell for sure what type of weapon was used.

Eyewitnesses told 13 News they heard a loud bang but weren't sure what had happened. One woman said she found pieces of glass on her neck and shoulders. The bullet hole pierced a sign that said marriage is between 'One Man, One Woman.'

'It's kind of scary,' said Christina Gossett, a Marshall freshman. 'The scariest part is that there were people sitting in there a few feet lower and could have been really bad.'

President Bush is scheduled to campaign in Parkersburg on Sunday and in Huntington Sept. 10.

John Carlisle, leader of the Soros Truth Squad, reports from Pittsburgh today that the first stop on Billionaire George Soros� speaking tour was poorly attended and received limited media coverage.

Carlisle, who stood outside after being ejected from the event at the University of Pittsburgh, counted less than 100 persons entering the room.

Carlisle was told to leave the event by University security officers. Carlisle said, �So much for the �open society.� Soros speech was supposedly open the public. But when someone who disagreed with Soros showed up, it suddenly became a closed event.�

I saw Soros tonight on C-Span's Booknotes, interviewed about "The Bubble of American Supremacy." Quite interesting. While the man is soft-spoken and offers many disclaimers about how he "could be wrong," my take is he thinks he's God. He seems to feel guilty about his wealth and assuages that guilt by influencing politics worldwide. All the false humility he tries to project cannot cover his egomaniacal hubris.
Soros espouses Karl Popper's open society idea, but seems to think such a society needs him and his foundations to make it happen. (A Leninist vanguard elite?) He thinks that liberty and pursuit of happiness can happen without the recognition of self-evident truths. Soros seems to hate Bush for forcing American values on other nations rather than gently leading them to "open societies" by Soros'-type methods, and for what he sees as unfair personal attacks in response to his criticism. Hell hath no fury like liberal billionaire scorned!
