Antihero Felt Admits To Be Deep Throat Big Leaker - Washington Post Glad To Take Leaks.
I still do not know who Deep Throat is, although a man who previously denied being the spy for the Washington Post is now stating that he is, indeed, the said person of interest. It has been reported that his family wants him to gain some fame for himself in his latter years - and some cash for themselves, today.
Mark Felt, the man who will be known as a Richard Clarke prototype, because they both were passed over for promotion and retaliated for such, leaked the Nixon cover-up of the Plumbers wiretapping and Watergate invasion to Woodward and Bernstein. It would have been nice if FBI Agent Felt would have done the legal thing and reported President Nixon's transgressions through official channels, but that could not be expected of man who had to have his vengeance funneled through the Nixon-hating Washington Post. Nixon was wanting to end the war, but not without honor. LBJ did not have the stamina to conduct or finish the conflict, so Nixon was thrust into a no win situation - ending the war, yet not forsaking the millions of Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians who would inevitably be dominated by some of the worse dictators and governors known to history - to this very day, some thirty years later. Thank you Felt, Woodward, Bernstein, Cronkite, Washington Post and NY Times. You launched a million lib careers into every facet of the media and academia, undermining your own country and sentencing the Southeast Asians to death. But, you got Nixon who was convinced that so many of you Young Turk Democrats, like a young Hilary Clinton, were willing to trade the welfare of the United States and Southeast Asia for political gain through subversion.
True, Daniel Ellsberg's psychiatatrist's office was invaded by Gordon Liddy and company, to see if Ellsberg was a foreign or domestic nut case/traitor. Having a press that was as adversarial as Ho Chi Minh, Nixon became obsessed with leaks.Technically, Watergate was an illegal - and botched operation. To the lib press everything is fair in love and war, especially if you can find some dirt (especially TOP SECRET) on your own country which Ellsberg, The New York Times, Felt, Woodward, Bernsteinn, and the Washington Post did to their eternal shame. George Washington had Benedict Arnold. Nixon had John Kerry, Woodward, Bernstein, The Washington Post and Mark Felt - Deepthroat(?).
BTW The United States after the Second World War entered into an agreement called SEATO - South East Asia Treaty Organization which vowed to stifle Communism in Asia. The United States could have intervened as early as 1960 in South Vietnam which was the year in which Ho's aggression was increasing. There were two Gulf of Tonkin incidents occurring in the Fall of 1964. One was an actual attack on an American naval vessel, and the second incident was a misreport. Check your history ,libs. After WW II the U.S. sent help to Greece which could have been overrun by commies, and South Korea thanks God today for our intervention. The most unusual thing about Vietnam was the rise of the American Left (commies) wanting Southeast Asia to become commie. And so we have even more neocommies today attempting to undermine what little of America that remains.
The Washington Post was all too anxious to sink Nixon since the New York Times had already scooped the The Pentagon Papers i.e. TOP SECRET analysis of the Vietnam War representing an exhaustive examination of the ramifications, failings and logistics of the War. The report included many of the reservations and doubts the Johnson administration and Pentagon had about the war. Any war at anytime in history would have such doubts about the winnability of said war. However, the difference between the Vietnam War and every other American military endeavor was that for the first time in American history the MSM became overtly anti-American as attested by the conduct of Woodward, Bernstein, Cronkite etc. Why else, except for extreme selfishness and vanity, would Felt/Woodward/Bernstein and the editors of the Washington Post want to publish leaks? Since TOP SECRET meant nothing to the press in the time of war, President Nixon became even more flustered in his attempts to reign in TOP SECRETS which were being gluttonously gulped down the deep deep throats of the lib press with no regard as to whether they would compromise national security.I mean, the Rosenbergs were executed for less.
Again, Nixon's cover-up was illegal, yet still pales in comparison to Clinton's FBI Filegate, Mark Richgate, Chinagate, Bimbogates, Arkancidegates,Ron Browngate, Vince Fostergate, etc. Perhaps, in thirty years ex Prez Clinton may be looked on much less kindly than we see Nixon today. History is so fickle. Yesterday's hero (John Kerry and Jane Fonda) is today's pariah and vice versa. I expect that the lib press has run its cycle and soon - according to many stats - lib professors and newspapers will be even more disfavored. Hope to God.
If Mark Felt is sainted, the numerous Iraq War Deep Throats will also be so honored in history. Let's make sure they don't do it again.
